Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I think we need to get away from this idea that status credits should only be earned by flying. Nowadays, most airlines award status based on the value that the customer brings to the airline, rather than number of flights taken. (That's why the U.S. airlines, for example, have brought in minimum spend requirements.) Somebody with a huge Qantas credit card spend that takes a few flights per year may be more profitable for an airline than somebody that earns status on discount economy status runs.

Interesting arguments for both sides of the fence here. Maybe QF is testing the waters on status earned from straight flying versus status for revenue generating members? Maybe the odd SCs thrown out for credit card signups will be the end of it but perhaps a move towards the USA model will be the future? Quite a few people thought the latter would be the case when the 'revolutionary change' was announced for QFFF a while back.

So if I keep all my points in some other program, and now transfer some across to QFF, they will give me a bunch of SCs

But if I am a loyalfoolish member and my credit card points credit direct to QFF, they will give me ... nada.

Let me think about that one...

It's not about loyalty or foolishness, it's about how much value you add to the QFF database and extra revenue they generate.

Pretty much all QFF cards are direct sweep because that way their algorithms see your monthly spending patterns and know a lot more about you to match with your other data, and prove a consistent monthly source of income to QFF.

It's really only the Platinum Amex and a couple of high end business cards that QFF allow optional transfers, and with those QFF will have already established you are high value, and the offer brings forward a bit of revenue for QFF.

Received this too. The 25% bonus is tempting, but not sure I want to lock my points in with QF at the moment. The SC while useful towards LTG aren't really enough to push me towards this.

Also, if anyone who has an Amex card but not recieving these offers, just trasnfer the minimum amount to QF and that should be sufficient to trigger future offers.
Unfortunately I didn't get the offer which is a shame as I have some Amex Membership Rewards. I'm not so interested in the Qantas Points but would love to add a few Status Credits to get me a tiny bit closer to Lifetime Silver.

The UK Amex has only recently become a Qantas partner, so have never transferred to Qantas before but I have now transferred the minimum in the hope I might get a similar offer at some stage in the future.
