 Suppose it was wishful thinking on my part that it would be extended to WP and WP1.
I'll bet my QFF balance that CL are also getting Spa appointments ;)

I wsas also suffering from wishful thinking but las not to be and again no different to what is was before and no different from EK In DXB Spa for First passengers only. Sighhhhhhh

Thanks, I will just hope there is availability when I am there in a couple of weeks.

Good luck and let us know how you go. I would suggest sending an email to the Lounge Manager and or First host to reserve your slot if you know what time you will arrive. ( I can PM you the Lounge Managers details if you wish)

I've always been able to get a Spa treatment at T3. Usually flying QF J and sometimes F. Unsure whether that was due to status, COS or the therapist feeling sorry for me.

Have NEVER beenable to get a treatment at T3 when flying in Y J or even F you must have been lucky or flying BA at the time as they seemed to give them away to BA customers rather than QF . At least that has been my experience.

Rarely flying BA, they always asked me to show them my WP card. I was never refused. As I said I don't know if it was ever a benefit or a run of good luck. It would be nice if QF could extend the service to F and J as BA offer this to F and CW at their T5 Spas.

Have been able to book spa treatments at T3 several times in the last year or so - but have been travelling in F each time (QF, not BA).

On the most recent visit though, in late December, the spa was closed "for renovation", although there was no sign at all of work being done. None of the spa or lounge staff knew the planned re-opening date. In fact, several of the lounge staff at the reception desk had no idea that the spa was closed! :)

Not a patch on the QF FLounges in MEL and SYD, anyway, but better than nothing. Anyone know if the spa is back in service? And if there has, in fact, been an upgrade? Or has the new facility reported here become the replacement, perhaps?

Possibly an element of luck, but I wonder if the spa is via a contract and the contractor bills the airline for every service they provide. Therefore if you happen to arrive at a time when they are under-utilized, very much in their interest to wave you through the door.

I've always assumed this was the case at the QF Flounge in MEL, where they go around soliciting customers in the lounge (but never aware that it happens in the SYD lounge).

The new No 1 Lounge arrangement is to replace what was the spa treatment in the lounge. As far as I am aware that Spa will NOT be reopened at this point in time nor is it undergoing any renovation. The Spa was run on behalf of BA and as BA has no flights leaving from T3 they opted to Close it.

Never seen that happen at SYD F, the trouble at SYD is for pax to actually get a spa appointment, sounds like it is the other way at MEL if they go around asking pax if they want a treatment!

Thanks for the update, Ansett. Interesting, in that there was a sign on the spa reception counter a few days before Christmas, advising of the renovations. (Perhaps they borrowed it from QF? :))

CamDownUnder, that's an unusual report on the MEL F spa. Those appointments are usually pre-booked and it's rare, in my experience, to find availability on the day. Perhaps it depends on your flight time? My visits are usually for MEL-LHR. Other times may possibly have more capacity?

Whenever I have had an early flight out of MEL, I have usually been offered a spa treatment. I don't think they get that many pre-bookings early in the day.

I'll be flying QF F ex-LHR on Sunday. Can anyone (Ansett, JessicaTam? ) advise how to get a booking at the spa ? Will they call me or do I call them?
For reference this is a points upgrade which has been confirmed at T-60 .
Thanks :)

That's interesting, Ansett. I have never been contacted before a QF F flight ex-LHR. Is that part of the new spa regime, do you think? Will be doing another of those trips soon, so will be interested in PF's report back, too.

Likewise. I will be doing the trip in about 4 weeks. Haven't been in QF F for over a decade and never on the A380 so I'm looking forward to it :)

Several passes through LHR imminent, which reminded me of this thread.

Hope your experience was better than mine, PF - and anyone else who tried out the new T3 system.

My attempt involved a long wait at the front desk, while numerous staff members provided an entertaining array of "reasons" why a QFF P1 passenger flying F could not access a spa service.
Eventually, after phone calls to QF First staff somewhere, I was granted access. Then given a ten minute session!

Certainly would not bother again, if that's the norm. But perhaps others fared better?

When myself and my wife left LHR travelling First early May I asked about the service when checking in. Received a booking just before departure. We both had a great treatment. At that stage it still was not advertised and if not for this thread would not have know about it - so thanks very much to everyone.
