I tried on the AA website but it still gave me errors so i cant do any seat via the AA website.

So you eventually got the AA pnr from somewhere? What errors is the AA site giving you? Can you display the seatmap?

Yep
QF gave it to me and sent me in AA's direction

I can bring up the seat map but when i try to save my seat selection it give me an error page regardless of if its main extra or not

I do a DONEx every year with 6 AA sectors (;)) that I book through QF. Once ticketed, I get on the QF website and select seats for everything I can there (not AA).

I then get the AA PNR and go to the AA website to select seats. I never get the AA PNR by calling QF but the only problem right now is that I can't recall off the top of my head how I get the AA PNR . I do have an AAadvantage account, so I think I must go into that and search for the booking using name and e-ticket number. Anyway, I do get it without phoning anyone and then seat selection is all sweet - and later shows in the QF MMB (but still can't be changed from there).
