Sorry to bump an old thread but couldn't find an answer elsewhere and didn't think it was worthy of its own thread.
Looking at this change from a points earning perspective in discount Y. BA fares earn at 0.25 with exceptions noted on the QFF site:

Travel in Discount Economy in the eligible booking classes between these city pairs will earn a base rate of 1:
- Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney and London or Frankfurt via Bangkok or Singapore,
- Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney and Bangkok or Singapore, and
- London or Frankfurt and Bangkok or Singapore.

Obviously QF would offer 1:1 on SYD- BKK/SIN/HKG - LHR. Looking at this change BA are now offering 1:1 on SYD-BKK/SIN-LHR/FRA. No mention of HKG? Does this really mean QF passengers who choose to go via HKG earn 1:1 on QF SYD-HKG and then only 0.25 from HKG-LHR?
