I just got back from my holiday to Japan/Hawaii. About 8 months ago, QF had changed my reward booking SYD-MEL-HND to SYD-BNE (16 hour layover)-HND, and to no avail, I couldn't get a direct reward flight from Sydney.

So I submitted a hotel/food expenses claim for $290 via the contact form.

I was expecting a 6-8 weeks response time, and to my dismay, I got a reply to my claim within a few hours asking for my bank details.

I immediately submitted my details, and the next morning, I had confirmation of payment into my account. Have other people been getting expenses approved this quickly?

My second claim is a little more uncertain, and I am yet to have a response. QF changed our return J reward flight SFO-SYD to LAX-SYD, but wouldn't provide a connection to get us to LAX (5 hours over many days to customer support), so I ended up buying the flights. This was before the reward bookings support email was in place.

We'll see if they think I have a valid claim for those flights and baggage costs...

Wow that’s fast. You should celebrate!

They made a similar change for me, changing a return flight that was HND-MEL-CBR all in business to HND-SYD-CBR with the last leg in economy. It was a DSC booking. I’ve been haggling with them for over 6 weeks just to get the original routing credits, let alone the relevant DSC.

My flight on QF10 last October was delayed about 20 hours. I submitted a claim for hotel, meals and £520 UK 261 compensation. To my surprise these were paid quickly. Confirmation came in a couple of days and money was in my account about a week later.

The process was a lot smoother than I expected, I almost hope my next flight leaving UK or EU is delayed as it was quite profitable 🤣.
