Hi there,

I'm looking at some return Premium Economy flights MEL - LAX for later this year, around the July to August timeframe.

My dummy bookings are coming up with what I thought were unusually high prices at approx $5100 return on Premium Economy Saver fares (lowest bucket available).

Earlier this year they were selling for approx $2500 on a sale.

Current pricing seems very high and I haven't seen PE priced so high in the past on this route.

Has QF re priced the PE product upwards? Is another sale expected soon?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks.

If you can wait for a sale, $3500 is about the mark.

You may have a better chance to grab a cheaper fare in August as July is peak season.

I would be interested to get a review of QF PE as I want to do US trip in the next 12 months & don't to fly Y anymore.

Indeed, MEL-NAN-LAX in J is often cheaper than PE...

I just ran a couple of dummy bookings on the above basis in J on the QF booking engine and it came out at $11k return.

It's better to book NAN-LAX return directly on FJ website for around $2,500. MEL-NAN one-way on QF codeshare for 900$ and book the NAN-MEL one-way on FJ. You can also fly in Y to NAN.

Sometimes the QF codeshare is cheaper than FJ:
