QF Platinum Recognition on flights

Mum ate most of it but the bit I had was okayyy, I won’t give it higher praise than that. The pistachio bombs that they had at Aldi for a while and now coles are better imo and ~ 1/3 the price! Not sure what I’d need to smoke to pay $20 for one block of Lindt.
That chocolate was like $20 a block at Woollies!!

Was it $20 good?!
That same block of Lindt Dubai Chocolate was selling for AU$29.00 at SYD arrival duty free! 😭 😭😭

Ooh roo

No CSM greeting in-seat on QF41 or QF42 in the last month. May or may not have received a 'welcome back' on boarding in QF41, but didn't on QF42.

I know opinions on CSM greetings are quite polarising here, but this makes 1.5 years since I've had one on a long(ish) haul QF flight, when it used to be consistent across every long haul flight.

Y or J

Did QF operated by Finnair J recently and got the usual greetings but thought they had a nice touch at the end to ask if there was anything the Purser aka CSM wanted to feedback

That would be a nice addition to QF to actually take down any service issues or recommendations.

J.

My data points are based on about 1 - 3 return international flights a year, of which at least one is on QF. Haven't flown internationally in Y for about 10 years now.
I think in Y the welcome is much more noticeable. I get really good treatment in international Y usually as a platinum. J I presume is very plat heavy

Great welcome back in F onQF94 departed LAX 10/01. Top service throughout the flight. Best however was travelling from Chicago to Orlando down the back with my knees up around my ears with a couple of friends. A crew member approached me and welcomed me by name at the sound level typical of a dance party. Friends and all around for about 6 rows suddenly knew me Lots of quizzical looks. Didn’t increase the seat pitch though.

Rarely get anything these days on QF metal flights beyond 'welcome back' at the door, but had QR going above and beyond the other day with the QF Plat number linked. Check-in staff more than happy to tag through to an unrelated connection, waived excess baggage on flight 1 because flight 2 had a better limit, thorough in-seat greeting before take-off on the first flight (a quick Y hop), and on the second flight in J, felt like more greetings than other pax (multiple hellos - purser, another team leader, and then the usual greeting from the FA working that part of the cabin). Also asked early in the flight what I planned to eat later so that they could reserve it and keep it aside - that seems to happen every flight, so I don't know whether that's part of the default service or a Plat thing, but I appreciated knowing that the caviar would be there waiting for me later when I felt like it. 😂

I very much notice in J if the CSM comes over to say hi. I keep a flight log and can probably tell you which oneworld flights I did and did not receive an in-seat greeting.

The ratio of status pax in J is probably much higher, but the actual raw number might not be given how large Y cabins can be.

Again, I'm aware of the differing opinions on whether an in-seat greeting is pleasant or awkward. I'm not saying I need one. It's just my observation that I haven't received one on QF since August 2024.
