So i just got an email about a plan ahead sale from QF.

Is this the early bird sale??

I was looking at QF in J and in advance of this possibly being the early bird sale i saved some screen captures.

QF1 to BA 484 to BCN on July 28th 2017 returning QF2 August 11th 2017 (no BCN to LHR, just LHR to SYD)
$7545

Today after the sale email
$8685

Something seems off to me.
Am i doing it wrong? The dates for the business fares are within the sale period.
Is this not the early bird sale?

If its a layby system I would be well pleased.
Put part payment towards a guaranteed seat.
Not meaning buying a voucher.

The open jaw could have omething to do with it perhaps not autopricing quite right. You could try calling QF or a TA to check

I'd also suggest as a general point that "sales" come and go and just because it says sale doesn't mean it's going to be the best fare now, or in the future. this is the game we constantly play to try and get the best deal.

As a simple example, about 6 months ago I snagged what I figured was a great J deal to LAX on NZ at $4400odd. I got in just a day or 2 before the sale was due to end and was happy. Sale ends, next day new sale launched ... price down to $4100ish. There was no way to know (outside of working in NZ sales/revenue management) that this was coming and I made the best choice at the time. Just had to suck it up and put it down to one of those things.
