QF PER-SIN Change Fee

My parents need to change their return date from SIN. They have already flown their outbound sector (PER-SIN).

Do they need to pay the itinerary fee of $100 + telephone service fee $75 (Total of $175)? They are both QFF Gold. Any way out of these fees?

Changes can be made by calling 13 13 13
Before and after departure:
Date changes permitted.
Itinerary changes permitted. At the time of making the change, you must pay (per person per change):
an itinerary change fee of A$100
any fare difference
a telephone service fee of A$75

I have been in the situation where I wanted to change the return date but have stuck with original dates. I would assume that as date changes are permitted then only the telephone service fee would be charged as the itinerary would stay the same.
