Hey, travelling PER-SIN this week and have finally got around to getting a Qantas Club membership through my employer's corporate program.

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the QF lounges at PER T1 and SIN?

Perth International Qantas Business Class lounge is basic but stil reasonable. It can get busy just prior to QF departures. Note that immigration/security is only open about 3 hours before departures, so not a lot of point in going to the airport too early hoping to spend a lot of time in the lounge.

SIN business class lounge is quite nice and can have a reasonable selection of food at the right times of the day.

Cheers for the info. Have to traverse PER T1 customs/security multiple times every few months as an 'visitor', so know what its like there (scarily on first name basis with some of the staff too).

Looking forward to SIN, as the QF page really trumpets the lounge after its renovations. Any idea on the best nosh times at the SIN lounge?

QP SIN doesn't really standout...

Not a lot on offer (foodwise) during the day..filled croissants/sandwiches (prepacked type that are 'fridge' cold).

At least you can get a drink, surf the net and grab a shower in relative peace during the day..you my just be the only one there until late arvo/early evening

This is when 'the food' comes out...(and so do the hordes of guests!). Overall, food's not all that appetising in my view..unless you like pizza and bland nibblies.

I could be wrong as I only visit F lounges now. But if I remember correctly, SIN J lounge as one of the most spacious shower rooms I have seen in an Airline lounge. (I think it is even bigger than the shower rooms in SIN F.

SIN QP.......pizza & carlsberg  what more in life does one want!

I was really looking forward to the 'supposed' dim sum offered in the SIN Flounge last week :( it didn't come! I'm sure it's a myth, urban legend, folklore......;)

I should have followed this up with a trip report after the flight, and I totally forgot so please accept my apologies and feel free to sink the slipper if you ever meet me in the lounge.

2 OCT, SIN T1, 1800-2000hrs (est.)

As suggested, the food service wasn't the broadest however the offerings were more than suitable. Two types of freshly made pizza slices, good salads and finger foods, and the desserts were of a good quality as well.

Design wise, it was well appointed and very roomy. I was able to crash out mid-lounge in the TV area. THe 'picture wireless' was thankfully turned off and the couches were rather comfortable and you could quite easily relax on these for hours on end. The view from the lounge is out over the terminal check-in area, and while spacious glass and framed with good gardens doesn't provide that exciting a view.

The lounge was 50% full, and the wireless was shocking for me. Neither me nor my guest were able to maintain a decent signal and ended up switching over to another free network we found broadcasting in the vicinity. No chance at requisitioning one of the more than 30+ terminals in the lounge, as these were a full house. Wireless configuration is a slightly detailed process, so don't consume too much liquid amber before trying to set this up. If you use IBM access connections on your laptop, PM me and I'll export the configuration profile for you.

I was also disappointed with the parents in the lounge, who arrived later on during the visit, and not keeping suitable control over their smaller charges. Lounge staff didn't seem too attentive to this as they were stationed on the entrance desk and not the one around the corner looking into the lounge.

One thing I really do despise is people not exercising restraint with their mobile calls, particularly if they are loud enough to hear across the room. This however did provide a hilarious moment where a 10yr old kid was talking about some trinket they purchased on the holiday with his dad for his brother back home which looked exactly like Jesus. The way and the volume it was said meant that my travelling companion and I to seriously restrain ourselves in case we burst out into laughter.

Overall, a decent lounge and much better experience than PER T1 which was under renovation at the time.

Did they walk around with any food on trays? Or was the only food what was in the buffet area?

From my SIN lounge experiences since i am always departing SIN, i have not ever seen in J food being walked around, but in F yes.
Still last months i have only been in F lounge.
