Hi all will be booking a flight SYD-HNL/HNL-LAX/LAX-SYD , my question is will the QF luggage allowance (inc status bonus) apply on the AA sector from HNL-LAX?

I believe if you are breaking your journey in HNL (as implied by your noted itinerary), and hence checking-in at HNL for an AA flight, you will only receive the baggage allowance defined on your ticket and not an additional QF status-based additional allowance.

Had a suspicion that would be the case, thanks. 👍

You will get the QF ticketed allowance (non status) OR the AA oneworld status allowance - whichever is higher.

So if you are QF Silver, you get the AA oneworld Ruby allowance. Same for Gold/Sapphire and Platinum/Emerald (the allowance is 1, 2 and 3 bags respectively).

If you are Bronze or Qantas Club, it's just the QF ticketed allowance.
