Hey,

Im wondering if QF online checkin works for connecting international flights, if checking in for an earlier domestic connection; ie.

My 0010 flight to SYD on WED check in opens at 0010 TUES. Can I check in at 0010 tuesday for my 1015 flight wednesday to LAX or would I need to check in for this flight earlier.

All flights present as 1 booking under my name in my QFF page, so I hope I can check in both flights at the same time, 24 hours in advance of my domestic flight.

The QF FAQ mentions this, however doesnt really answer my question.

Many thanks.

So my next International itinerary I can OLCI for all legs? PER-MEL-SIN-FRA?

Do I still need to drop my bag at the "International Connections" counter at PER domestic, or can I just drop it at an "Online Check-in Counter" as per the webpage?

No experience with this yet but I would guess you will still need to visit the International connections counter at domestic terminals in Australia.

When I tried last week, I had a BNE-SYD and SYD-HKG on the same ticket but with an overnight in SYD. I was able to OLCI for BNE-SYD but not for SYD-HKG until after I had arrived in SYD. This may also have been due to Qantas re-arranging and rolling the cabins due to over-sold Y and under-sold W, J, F cabins at the time I first tried to OLCI (was less than 24 hours before SYD-HKG departure).

It didnt work at all

It simply generated the error:

Code:
You will need to check in at the airport as online check-in is only available for e-ticket bookings. If your booking has not been ticketed or is not an e-ticket, you will need to check in at the airport. [BR008] Check the help pages for more information on online check-in eligibility.

I called the 131313 number for assistance and they basically shrugged their shoulders to the situation and told me to use the airport counters... :(

Not the best 'first impression' for a first time OLCI user!
