OK, I'm obviously missing something here.

Trying to book a Syd-MAD trip for next year.
Will need to be economy due to declining points in my account!

Couldn't see anything avaialble, so tried CDG. (we can get a cheap flight from there to MAD)

Multi City v Regular Booking?

The last couple of years I've been using the multi city option to look for flights.
This seems to throw up a lot more options, mainly with partner airlines.
But not seeing much (nothing yet) for my trip planned for next year.

So I the I try the 'regular' booking option, and see flights.

Go back to Multi-City, and this same flight (via Perth) is not available.

Just wondering what the logic is behind the booking options.

Does the 'regular' option only show QF flights and the Multi-City option only show Partner airline flights?

That wouldn't make sense.

Must be something else?

Qantas, like most airlines, is a series of different platforms barely held together by twine.

There's no point trying to understand why Qantas has two search engines on its website.

They are built for different purposes. One isn't necessarily better than the other. Eg the front page shows Classic+ while the multi-city does not.

Just use the multi-city for award bookings.

And yet an Aaward bookinfg appears on the regular page, but the same booking is not shown on the multi city.......

I take your point though. Thanks

We may just end up paying for an Emirates flight if nothing shows up.

Interesting that of all the options that 'did' show on the Qantas site, none included any Emirates code shares.
Have they 'divorced'?

You normally see Classic Rewards as their native code eg EK (not QF codeshare). There are some exceptions.

As above, the multi-city search is generally better for CRs. It also has the added benefit of not showing CR+ seats (for now). Are you seeing CR+ or CR on the regular search?

Ahh. I see.

On the Regular Search I'm only seeing CR+
