I know we berate news.com.au and other for their ability to confuse a 737 with and A380 but can you spot the deliberate mistake in the most recent Qantas Advisory Panel email?

Qantas Advisory Panel Update email said:

Refurbished 747 Business Cabin

Either the 747's are getting a downgrade, or they meant to say 767...

And they said I could login and do a 'quick poll' on the Qantas Club renewal options.

What quick poll? there isn't one :)

It is on the right hand side - it is a quick question about whether people would be interested in [-]a pay by the month QP renewal system[/-] monthly direct debit for your annual subscription.

That's an interesting idea, but that could lead people to realise the actual value of QP, be it good or bad.

By paying yearly, it means a large amount comes out of my wallet at once, but I know I'll use the membership at least a few times over the year. Paying on a month by month basis, there are some months I don't fly at all, and you'd feel that those months it's simply wasted money.

Could cause some ppl to cancel their membership during quieter times...

I think it was about spreading your annual membership over 12 months rather than a pay as you go option (I will amend my original post).

This thread is probably not enhancing my chances of getting a seat at Rockpool - or maybe it is if you understand the bolding...

It is now on mine. It wasn't before (I emailed them, so either I was too quick, or they fixed up something).

Interesting to see that the overwhelming majority is
"N/A - I am a current Gold, Platinum or Platinum One frequent flyer (51%)"

yeah - you have to think that the majority of contributors to the panel must be statused - I recognise that they need a broad base but if you don't fly a lot then you probably can't provide that much insight.

In reality, it would be accurate (providing that survey has a large sample size, which i'm sure it does not yet).

The response above was around 50% when I looked, so that would indicate that 50% or so have status, the rest do not. That's not an unreasonable proportion I guess (considering status was SG/WP/P1).

Slight update for you...
