Hi everyone

I'm travelling PER-SYD(QF,Y)-AKL(LA,J)-WLG(NZ,Y), and wondering whether QF will check my bags all the way through to WLG? The QF & LA segments are both on the same itinerary, with the NZ sector booked separately online. I'm assuming I will be able to receive my LAN Boarding Pass at PER to make the SYD transfer quite seemless, and I already have my e-boarding pass from NZ, so being able to walk from Int'l to Dom terminals at AKL and straight through security would be quite beneficial.

I figure it's just a case of if you don't ask you'll never know, but some insight from anyone who's done it before would be appreciated.

Happy New Year!

Since the AKL- WLG leg is a domestic leg, you will need to collect all your baggage in AKL and pass through Customs and then check it in again. The airlines will not be able to interline it.

I don't know if NZ will accept the baggage at the Domestic terminal itself or whether you will need to take it with you to the International terminal. My guess is the later since the two tickets are separate.

I'd say yes to receiving the LA boarding pass at PER (but prob not NZ), and they will probably also tag your bags all the way through (there is an interline agreement between QF and NZ).

But you'll need to pick your bags up in AKL, although you should be able to simply use a bag drop line in AKL.
