QF J KUL-SIN-LHR fares are quite reasonably priced

Have you checked the price for Qantas if you book KUL-SIN-LHR? ;)
Good tip!
Half the price of SIN-LDR fare, just makes one want to live in Kuala Lumpur.

For someone like myself in SIN to enjoy the savings though, i must get myself and luggage from SIN to KUL and put up the service of KLIA and 3K staff (KUL-SIN leg… assuming no flight delays). Not sure its worth the SGD450

You can use MH on the KUL-SIN leg.

Hi Fred, are you talking about a QF award ticket to get from Aus to Asia to meet this KUL-SIN-LHR flight?
I read that as just SIN-KUL as I gather that @XWu is based in SIN. But Oz to Asia using QFF points is generally reasonable value IF you can find seats.

if you're really going from KUL to London, then there's some way better J fares with other airlines than QF or SQ

on a random search, we're talking J fares somewhere between low $3k-$4k return into places in Europe

or ex CGK and BKK.

Indeed - hence why Qantas needs to be more competitive in that market, where it doesn't command a natural price premium like it does in Australia due to its brand recognition/loyalty ;)

Certainly there are better options for KUL-LHR, but if you want to fly QF for whatever reason (e.g. there's a DSC offer) then perhaps something to consider :)

And it's often easier to find MH award availability from Australia to KUL than it is to find QF award availability to SIN.

Never seems to be a shortage of award availability SYD-CGK/MNL on QF and these two ports often have some great J fares into Europe.
That used to be the case but like all routes, CR seats are all over the shop at the moment. The timing of my current trip I’m was driven by the one day only there was whY seats SYD-CGK. Nothing for weeks either side, zero J (but did appear closer to departure and I pounced). Requesting release of J seats - computer said no.

But let’s hope it returns to “normal” soon!

i doubt there's a return to the past seeing as the OWE or others keep growing with extra players on-board who expect access to Reward seats, we could be in the infancy of a new normal.

I was looking at SYD-CGK recently and still seemed to be J availability nearly every day in April/May if you plan ahead.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I was watching like a hawk for weeks and then availability hit a cliff. Nothing, even the usual 350 odd days out was showing - including whY, even though all the flights were still empty. The one and only day that had whY seats (a Sunday) I could have booked 10 CR whY seats!

I’ll take a look to see how next years looking. I prefer SIN but CGK has the best fares out at the moment.
