Thanks Evan. I will have a few hours there in a few days and will likely make use of it.

No worries, just wish they would do the same here in AU.
The network i was connected to in SIN was QF-BA-JCL-1

Wifi access at BA and QF really are something I wish they could sort. Obviously it wont happen for BA given their contract with BT. I was amazed to get free WiFi at BGI in teh general departure lounge and am actually looking forward to HKG and the CX lounge where again I will get free WiFi. I guess though that it's not a big enough distinction between airlines and lounges (given the shared lounges in SYD) to make one change.

Yes, BT o-zone and others, but when i was there last week you asked at the counter and they gave you a sheet with the password for free access. Passwd is in Hex.Evan

 What the ............ Now I am peeved. I wasn't aware of that. It will be different next time though.:(

These are known as First Class Lounges and exist at the following locations (from my head, so may be more):
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, London Heathrow Terminal 4, Los Angeles Terminal 4, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok (to be opening in April). At some locations they have arrangements with local lounges for their Qantas Club and Business Class passengers to one lounge and for their first class passengers to use another (e.g. SFO).

Dont forget the First class lounge in Perth, it is very exclusive though. Only 2 pax at a time. After the door attendant waves you in, you take the first right, and then a right again.

You mean you had no idea the password was in Hex ?? (It was only 0-9 & A-F so i guess you could guess, granted not so easy for the non IT people here) or you had no idea it was free ?
Well i was in SIN lounge in Feb i think and no free internet, then in March there was so its only quiet recent change.

I was there in Jan and really needed to download my emails but couldn't get any of the wireless networks to work, even when trying to pay.

Travelling to SIN this close to Easter?
Travelling home via SIN to ensure I am home in time for Easer and a long weekend away with the family.

What is wrong with that?

I was surpised that a family man like NM would be flying to Singapore that close to a four day weekend at the start of school holidays. I was making unfounded asumptions based on how I plan my trips.

Nothing sinister was meant

I was there (the BA/QF J lounge in Singapore) in Jan and Feb. In Jan, they had a sign out about the 'free wireless trial' on the counter, but I had to specifically ask for the piece of paper with details on it when I was there in Feb.

Nah. Driving up to Toowoomba.

But I can confirm that free WiFi is available in the SIN FLounge. This post comes via the service. As previously posted, just ask at the front desk and you will be given a slip of paper explaining the setup and WEP password (64 bit WEP is used).
