I'm looking at a fare to IST with Turkish Airlines. The first leg SYD to IST is with QF with a short (1 hour 10 mins) transfer in SIN. I presume it will all be on the same ticket but with such a short time to transfer I want to make sure QF checkin will take care of the luggage transfer from QF to TK in SIN. Can anyone put my mind at rest. I wasn't able to find any recent interline info. Thanks in advance.

If on same ticket then yes, bags and should issue a boarding pass too.
If seperate tickets, then not a chance.

Just about all legacy (as opposed to ‘low cost’) carriers have interline agreements with all other legacy carriers. It’s the way it’s always been, but airlines would like us to believe otherwise these days as they don’t want you swapping to another airline!

Airlines could still interline on separate tickets today, if they wanted to. But they are cost cutting, and also want to discourage swapping between airlines.

But as pointed out, you’re all on the one ticket so it won’t be an issue.

Yes if on the one ticket issued by the one airline with the one booking reference then its not a problem.

But lets say that QF checkin only tags your bags to SIN.
This is not a problem at SIN, because the airport will locate your bags and tag through to final destination and issue you with boarding passes for the next flight. This service is free if you present yourself at one of the transfer counters that services TK - or chech the Transfer information Passenger Display System to see which Transfer counter to use

I believe QF and TK are both in T1 - so not far to go changing gates.
