Guys just wondering if any of you can shed some light on this. I'm on QF12 on 15 Oct and it has been switched from A380 to 747 to A380 to 747 over the last month or two. OK i get the fact they're changing the config of the A380's so they're working on this, but even as the flight has been changed to an 747 this week they wont allow seat selection on this flight. Is this because its not locked in stone? Your thoughts?

Have you tried calling customer care?

I am not sure if you are having the same issue but I have noticed that if the aircraft type in my booking has changed (say from 767 to 738/734) then I can no longer change my seats online and need to call customer care. Sometimes I can actually view the seat map and seat changes do not stick or an error message appears that there is some issue or another.

Another issue the other day was after I changed my HKG-SYD flight next January to a few days later and I can longer view the seat map or change my seat online. Had to call customer care and pre-allocate 80K and I suspect any other seating changes and I will need to call again. I will keep a close eye on this booking.
