QF FFN won't "stick" on AA booking

So I've got an AA Classic Reward booked through Qantas, but when I look up the AA record locator on the AA website, the FFN field is blank (it's properly filled in on my Qantas PNR). I can put in my Qantas one manually, however after clicking save it doesn't seem to "stick", and is cleared again after I refresh the page.


Unfortunately as a result of this it's not letting me pick the "Preferred" seating for free, which should be possible if I'm OWE.

Any ideas or tips to how to get this to work? I have a different AA classic rewards booking on which I was able to select Preferred seating no problem. Is there another airline website where I can look up the record locator and try to get my FFN to stick?

As an update, I was able to get my FFN added by messaging AA on Twitter . This has fixed the seat selection.

Preferred seating or MCE? Unless you are QFF P1 or CL, no free MCE.

As a WP, I can't select MCE on without paying an imminent QFF award flight (I have been able to select 'preferred').

My FF number was attached on booking though QFF.

Preferred seating. I know I can't select MCE for free anymore

But it was trying to charge me for Preferred, which is wrong.
