Out in QF FIRST Classic SYD to LAX 144000 multiplied by 3 travellers.(2 different flights in June,2011)
Back in 3 different flights....one day apart for 2 FASAs on QF at 159,060 points to earn a bit of status in July 2011 and then
KRIS A340 All business class 98 seater LAX-SIN then in J SIN to PER with 114750 points and about $330 taxes.This Kris flight connects the best for Perth

The need to split up to get on board in First is due to the tightening of availability coming back from Los Angeles to Sydney.
With young family members this would not be a go.
Faced with one seat on 11th July and 12th July on QF then nothing until 18th July I picked KRIS to get home on their A340 on 12th July ex LAX thru SIN.
It is a solution but not for everyone
