Hi all

If a family member is QF Gold (Family Member A) and wants to book a flight for a family member (Family Member B) using the Family Member A's points, is there any difference between transferring points to Family Member B for Family Member B to book their flight vs Family Member A just booking the flight in Family Member B's name?

Presumably if the latter approach was taken, the benefit is that Family Member A would have more rewards flights open to them (and potentially also upgrade opportunities)?

Unless a P1 is applying for an upgrade for a family member, status is irrelevant.

Family member A can probably see more reward seats, but no difference for upgrades.

One thing to consider is the status of the person who is going to be flying. If a Gold books the flight they may be able to assist with seat selections especially on international flights.
