I'm planning on making an AA award booking before devaluation and am interested in others opinions.

I already have award flights booked PER-LHR in J on EY so will experience the 787 and 380 on the outbound.

For the return there is minimal award space through AA/Oneworld partners and I'm really down to QF F or EY J again.

My premium cabin experience is limited to EK and SQ J cabins. So I'd love to try 1st, but read mixed reviews about QF. Is it worth the points premium over EY J?

Yes - QF F trumps EY J, no question.

QF F is quite exceptional and those F lounges are pretty amazing.

For AA awards, the F is such a fantastic deal and QF F is awesome. If you can get Apartments on EY, it is a whole level higher again.

Check the AUH to SYD availability for EY A380 F. Worth paying to get back to PER just to have that experience.

Better chance to score apartment AUH-MEL if traveling from June.

QF F wins over any J but EY AP is the royal flush :)

I was looking at that EY apartment but the only availability in F AUH-MEL/SYD is in the 77W - assuming that won't be up to the same standard?

I can just about purchase enough miles for two if we fly J to AUH and F onwards as I'm pretty sure Etihad is 2 rewards if booked through AA?

Its the post xmas busy period (I'm looking at returning 3rd - 8th Jan) so reward space seems tough at this stage.

Yes, EY to LHR is two awards: 60k + 40k in F.

If the choice is between EY J and then F or QF F all the way I'd go for QF. The J hard product on EY B777 supposed to be average.

If the choice is between EY F on B777 all the way or QF F, I'm also not sure it worth the extra 20K. Maybe if traveling as a couple and sitting next to each other is very important...

FWIW, EY J on the 787 was really good IMO. But i did have excellent service that flight so that might have made the difference

But I will take QF F over EY J, even on the 789, anyday. (we flew EY J on 789 BNE-AUH)

I haven't flown EY F on 777 but have heard it is not as good as QF/CX/QR/etc F. If you could grab QF F, take them. It's just EY F trumps all and only AA gives the option of both. :)

I think EY F product on B777 is almost same (minus some cosmetic changes) as on B789.

Yet the 789 is laid out in forward and rear facing seats. Haven't flown either but the photos do look very similar.
