Hi all,
I flew J on QF128 last week and was given one of those express cards for immigration. Because I used the e-passport machines, it ended up being faster to go through the normal way so I've still got that card. Can I use it on another flight when I'm no in J?

Thanks.

Yes you can. Although SmartGate is usually always faster anyway.

SmartGate faster when the machines are working.
I went through once and all of them except for a handful were working.

The cards are useful at the Quarantine check tho.

Not if you're at a port like SYD which has removed the Express lane in favour of Green and Red lanes, inbound cards are pretty much useless now if you can use e-passport

I've given mine away to friends and relatives on foreign passports to use

Thanks for the replies all. I had nothing to declare and everyone was going through quarantine at a decent speed. Maybe this was due to minimal arrivals on a Tue morning?

Yes you can use it next time you travel, however these days they are worthless when arriving into the likes of SYD or MEL, customs/quarantine seem to largely ignore the express cards, but are still happy to take them from you even if they send you to be checked, they must get revenue from them, which is wrong in my opinion if you don't get express treatment then you should get to keep the card.

When I'm in Y, I sometimes pass it to the person next to me if he/she is on a foreign passport and is generally a nice person.

Was so disappointed the other week. Flew QF12 with nothing from the crew as WP. Asked for an Express Card on landing to be told 'They don't have it anymore at SYD' with just Declare/Non-Declare.. When I get there, find the line HUGE and there was an express lane, so I was bull****ted basically. Was actually looking forward to that QF flight. CSM was below par. Not to mention basic errors, like with reading the script, announcing the wrong destination, etc. Are QF's only decent FAs the UK based ones on the LHR-DXB route? seriously.

Also, anybody else noticed the death of Amenity kits in Y last year? Started on the 8hr flights, now none on the 15hr ones either.

That lane was roped off yesterday morning (12 Jan) and passengers asking where they were meant to go with their express cards (while waving said card in goon's face) were directed to go down Declare or Non-Declare. Found the whole thing very unsatisfactory.

Yes - the Outbound Express Pass is the one you really want. I have used the same one in Sydney for about a year now ....

I saw a QF silver with a QF arrivals express path card today coming off CX101.. it had creases etc. and looked like it had been used a bit so you're not alone...

When the other week? The new arrival procedures have been in place for a few weeks so you can hardly blame the airlines for following the advice given to them. It is just declare/non declare and I haven't once seen express lines at this point. The express pass is only good at passport control and only if your not using smart gate.

Amenities have never been removed from Y. They went from being preset to on request. The items are now also individually loaded so if someone only needs a toothbrush, a pair of shades and socks aren't wasted at the same time. It is also printed on the menus that these items are available from crew.
