Indeed, but don't we have this new auto checkin feature on domestic now as well.... Check in Options | Qantas

Plus if the iphone app doesnt work you can open the browser to qantas.com.

I think I used the pole once since it started, just as an experiment and no other time at all.

I'd inially thought the poster who had iphone issues couldn't do mobile checkin however rereading their post they were just referring to OLCI.

Auto checkin prompts you to do mobile checkin. The first time I did it I was just going to use an airport kiosk but when I received the sms I just clicked the click then answered the DG's question ie "no, I'm not travelling with any of these" then clicked on the link in the next sms and it opened up the QR code.

This is now my preferred method of checking in domestically as I like to do it ahead of time rather than leaving it until I get to the airport.

Like others here, I use the mobile check-in and then the card at the gate to save faffing about with the phone.

+1 the recent versions of the Android app have had no issues for me for mobile check in, seat changes, and all the rest

Out of curiosity, did you encounter the problem at gate 21 in T1 at MEL?

May have done - the HBA have been departing from there lately. Last time for sure was Gate 6 at MEL.
