Some users may not want QANTAS to easily be able to identify them from their posts.

I still have one flight's DSCs left to post.

Fair enough, I guess those users don't post in the lounge meet thread where all of that info for these flights is already public knowledge

Thanks to all for the posts. I have gone and had a look at the statement again. It seems as though one of the return flight has not come in yet. Will wait a while longer.

I don't ;)

Interesting my double status credits came in quite late in the day today.

Looks like I'm going to have to get on the phone to see what is going on.

Mine posted 4 days later, just lucky I guess .....bit different to ihg points

Morning mate, I took your advice and phoned up and we found what the issue was...

On the morning of the 28th when I received DSC confirmation email from Qantas, I asked our booking department to go ahead and book all my required flights until the end of the year.

My flights were booked via our Amex Concur account at 9:30am eastern time, however the system works, it has thrown my booking times back into Zulu time placing the booking times in the system as just before midnight on the 27th!

So the system is showing 12 of my flights being booked the day before (11pm Zulu), but after opening up the itinerary, it shoes the Australian booking time as the morning of the 28th.

Unfortunately Qantas can't do anything at this point and have said I will need to wait the 8 weeks for each itinerary and then call up to try and have the SC manually added is it's handled by a separate department.

Just some good old fashioned bad luck with the system we use booking in another timezone along with our booking girls being a little too effecient lol.

Will have to see how I got in a few months at claiming these credits.

What was the number your were given to call?

Ah... That makes sense!

Well at least you know now instead of waiting and waiting and waiting! :)

Yeah, fair call guys.

I just thought it was a bit strange that some people are seeing their double creds within days of flying yet its now been over a fortnight since my first return leg and nothing has shown yet.

Think I'm just a bit eager as I will be able to attain Platinum One come September if all the bonus creds appear :)

Just for the bonus SC: I've generally had them pretty quick, but there have been the odd time when 3 or 4 weeks is the timeframe. I wouldn't be too panicked just yet.

Again with this Zulu time rubbish. Qantas Customer service are just making it up as they go along. They are still completely and utterly wrong.

New flight bookings must be made between 12.01am (AEST) 28 Apr 2016 and 11.59pm (AEST) 4 May 2016,

The conditions of the promo are CLEARLY based on Kilo time, AEST. Being before midnight Zulu time does not make the booking ineligible. If they want to operate in Zulu time that the above condition is

They are simply talking utter rubbish with this zulu time nonsense. 11pm Zulu on the 27th is within the booking period.
Let me guess, the work experience kids did the programming. Maybe someone needs to tell them about timezones.

They are not saying that it is ineligible.

They are saying it IS eligible, but the booking system uses Zulu time, therefore the date of the booking appears as the 27th.

The booking is definitely eligible, but they cannot intervene and add status credits until the normal turnaround time has elapsed.

As I said that is complete and utter rubbish. Has some complete idiot at Qantas programmed the conditional testing to only check the time without considering the timezone? Could they really be that stupid?
The booking system might use UTC, but when I use Manage My Booking the flight times are displayed in local time not UTC. Gee how do they manage to do that, if not by using time zone conversions.
To say that the bonus isn't coming through because the booking system uses a different time zone is nonsense.
To tell someone to call back in 8 weeks and try to have the bonus added suggests that there might be a fight. That the system hasn't automatically added the bonus does say that Qantas considers the flights to be ineligible, even if this is because a year 8 work experience kid programmed the computer for this promo. Whoever set up the checks for this promo needs a good slap on the back of the head.

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

The promo will provide double status credits for any booking made between 28Apr-04May.

If if booked early on the 28Apr, booking date will show as 27th.

Promo doesn't check for booking dates of 27th.

That is what the problem is. The bonus can be applied manually if you call. You shouldn't have to wait 8 weeks as they know they won't come through automatically, due to the booking date.

Wonder what will happen to the group who booked early on 05 May and the booking shows as 04 ???

Happy wandering

Fred

This is why I reckon booking around the middle of the qualifying period for booking is best.

I agree with everything you've said mate and trust me I'm very disappointed with the situation but outside of getting angry over the phone I don't think there is anything else I can do for the time being, and any angry words I yell are just going to be received by some poor bugger who most likely can't help with the situation.

I've just got to wait the period out and then try again over the phone... If still nothing, then maybe I'll bring out the angry words :D

I would never suggest getting angry on the phone. But I do enjoy having a dig here at the obvious failures by Qantas with their IT systems. Someone higher up the food chain at Qantas might read it. Sorry if the target of my scorn was unclear.

Ask Red Roo if he can do anything especially as the DSC might impact on the allocation of points on other trips if Tier level would have been increased eg silver to Gold etc
