QF Double Status Credits February 2026 Promo

What’s the cancellation fee? $250?
Yes. The flights are the same price as when I bought them so that would be the only addition cost for 100 additional SCs.

Not deranged at all. I have done it myself!
You should see the look my Mrs gave when I suggested the 'Scheme' to her. Glad to hear there are some like-minded folks on here.

I assume the safest move is to book the new flights first before refunding the existing one?

Yes, I always book my new flight before I cancel the old one, my new hotel room before I cancel the old one etc - don;t ask me how I know, just learn from other people's mistakes so you don't have to make them all yourself!

And of course, $250 is $250, and it's actual money, so be sure that you will get $250 worth of value out of the DSC. Seeing you are WP at the moment, it would be worth it to me (also WP) to get 100 SC towards maintaining status for only $250. I get lots of actual value out of WP benefits such as extra luggage, First lounge access. And I save a lot of time that is valuable to me with things like priority check in and faster phone support. And I am sure that they take better care of me when there is disruption to flights, based on a recent experience where we were deplaned from an unserviceable dash-8 and bussed back to terminal and I could hear the re-arrangements being offered to others. We were placed on he very next flight. Some of them were given flights with more than 4 hrs to wait. Of course I have no idea of their status.

Hi All, if I book a flex economy ticket during the DSC period then upgrade the ticket via Manage my Booking ie pay the fare difference to business class, at which fare class will I receive DSC?

I tried to do that before and the ticket refused to issue (apparently it could tell I had an existing booking overlapping with the new flight, my FF details were in the old and new booking)

We’re also arriving CHC at a similar time. Have booked the Airport Gateway hotel approx $190 for the night, 24 hr checkin with 1100am checkout, with free 24hr shuttle bus to/from airport
With my very short turnaround I have cheaped out and gone for the Lylo for around $100 AUD for a private room. Only going to be there a few hours anyway.

That is a good one for the Bingo card!

Looking through the FAQ section after registering, the use of gift cards is listed as being acceptable.
For those who can't schedule flights 6 months in advance,
Anything to help the wandering.

This is great news (this is likely to be my situation) - thank you for the confirmation @wandering_fred.

Just triple checking that Points Club Plus member classic awards do get double SCs? I will be 67 short of gold so I am looking at a HBASYD business round trip which I think should be 18x2x2=72...

Does this look right! Then I get CX lounge access in Vancouver, Frankfurt and Hong Kong later in the year!

Key is that you are PC+ member at the time of flying.

Just updating historical records for future reference:

Past DSC promo history:
2026: 24 Feb - 2 Mar,
2025: 12-18 March, 28 Aug- 3 Sep
2024: February
2023: March
2022: March, December
2021: March, May
2020: February (after which Covid hit, so Qantas began rolling out status extension offers)
2019: February, April-May
2018: February, August, October

Would I be completely deranged if I cancel an existing flight booking for a cash refund, just to rebook the same flight to get DSC. The flights are the same price so would net 100 SC for $250.

....I mean... asking for a friend...
I think some of us in AFF have done the same over the years 🙂

About 90 SC short after booking some runs, so I rebooked a flight for next week to pick up the DSC before cancelling the original one. Thankfully no eticket issues with the overlap.

Would’ve gone from NB to WP by November, but wanted WP by June ahead of a busy run of flights. Goodbye Skyteam, won't be missed.

I've come across some buggy website pricing, confirmed by a call with Qantas: in the first screenshot below, the itinerary confirms a business sale price of $1,407. At the bottom of this screenshot is the "continue" button. However, on continuing, the price changes to a business flex, nearly double the price, at $2,855. I rang Qantas (platinum call centre) and asked them to build the same itinerary in their internal system to see what price they received - and it was $1,407. I'm guessing that all the load performance on the Qantas servers right now must be making the website do funny things ? If you experience this, then I recommend calling Qantas, who will waive the $77 booking fee.
