I could have sworn that QF lounge access as a QF SG/WP was allowed based on having a QF flight number but the wording on the website sounds like it needs to be a Qantas operated and marketed flight. Have the rules changed or have QF just fudged up the wording a bit?

Platinum Frequent Flyer: Next onward flight must be on a Qantas^, Emirates^, Jetstar Airlines+ or oneworld operated and marketed flight. #

My reading of the rule is:
Next onward flight must be on a Qantas flight, or
Next onward flight must be on an Emirates flight, or
Next onward flight must be on a Jetstar Airlines flight, or
Next onward flight must be on a oneworld operated and marketed flight.

So for QF361 being a Qantas flight you would receive lounge access.

Agree, so long as its sold as a QF flight number you will get access.

I thought the ^ might reveal all as to what precisely constitutes the definition of a Qantas or Emirates flight.

Instead it states: Lounge access eligibility is based on the class of travel, Qantas club membership or the Frequent Flyer Membership tier for your next onward flight.

Considering the quoted section comes from piece specific to FF Membership level (WP) it really is an irrelevant "clarification". Agree with the OP that this is not clear.

There shouldn't have to be any "My reading of the rule is" (with apologies to eminere) - the rule should be definite; its expression on a webpage such as this should be crystal clear, after all isn't that the whole purpose of the page??

Regards,

BD

Off the top of my head, I can think of the QF/FJ flights being a similar example (forgetting the ownership structure of FJ).

I am fairly sure WP members receive F-Lounge access whilst flying on the QF number but FJ operated flight.
Is this the case, or has it changed?

I seem to recall the rule for status based entry was "Next onward flight that day must be a Qantas marketed flight (QF flight number)." in the past - which incidentally is what it says under the class of travel (First) section, however the status based criteria is worded pretty vaguely.
