Hey everyone. We've got a QF booking (to London in J) that's on QF / EK metal and a QF booking reference. Keen to change the outbound to a CX flight via HK - is there anything smart I can tell the travel arranger to help them make this switch or is it not possible? I figured as they're all OW it may be possible... perhaps I'm dreaming :)

you're not going to be able to switch carriers unless you held a full fare (published IATA) ticket - which would have been incredibly expensive. That would allow you to endorse to any carrier of your choosing.

Your options would be to apply for a refund and to then buy a ticket on CX. If you have purchased a flexible QF/EK ticket, the fare rules will tell you how much the cancellation will be. It might not be that expensive in the grand scheme of things, especially if the CX fare is lower.
