hello all,

i have accumulated close to 250k worth of QFF points. just thinking what can i do with this.

a simple syd-hkg-lhr-syd = 136000 ff points +tax on economy......

how about a rtw? say syd-hkg-lhr-fra?-jfk-nrt-syd .....something similar, i'm typing this fast as father is here rushing me to get off the computer so we can head out for brunch.

i'm using qf award booking and it calculates the ff points per sector, is there something where it's like 200k capped points for RTW?

thanks.

Alanslegal,

RTW economy class is 140,000 points plus taxes & fines,
RTW business class is 280,000 points plus taxes & fines and
RTW first class is 420,000 points plus taxes & fines.

Hopefully that puts some perspective on it for you.

thanks for the points information.

How do I go about booking these? I'm assuming with a RTW it's best to contact QF bookings direct.

The online booking tool will automatically calculate the correct points needed for a ATW award. However, not all airports are available online, and Cathay in particular have had issues with display of their flights recently.

So you can try booking online, but will probably need to call up. I believe the Assisted booking fee is waived for the OneWorld award ATW due to the complexity involved.

What you're after is a "One World Award". It can be booked online.
You must use at least two One World airlines other than Qantas.

A zone 10 award redemption allows you up to 35,000 miles with 5 stops and up to 16 segments.

There's no reason not to at least try to book it online and save 2,500 points.

the online booking for a simple rtw works,
my eg. syd-hkg-lhr-cdg-jfk-sfo-syd = 140k points on economy....

not much by way of bz or 1st class though =(

so thanks to everyone!!!!
