QF Award Inventory Management Timeline

Does anyone have any experiences as to when/how inventory is managed? Is it dynamic or does it refresh at 00:00 (GMT)? I had an experience where an Economy award was 0 on expertflyer and magically turned to 9 a few weeks later so I'm just wondering whether I should check 10am or just check it periodically?
