Looks very similar to the shindig they had on at HND for the inaugural QF26.
About "QF26"...
I've always wondered how QF works out which number to use for which flight (within the 'bands' of 1-199 = International (even inbound to oz, odd outbound), 200-399 international codeshare, 400-1399 Demestic mainline, etc)
They hadn't reused 73/74 for anything else, so they're just using the same as the old SFO flights. But now that HND has 25/26, if they ever start AKL-LAX again, it would need new numbers, as would a new FCO flight which numbers are now used for DFW.

Is the equipment (eg mobile signage) used at SFO brand new, or did they pull the old stuff out of storage?

QF announced this route as a refurbed 744, but tomorrow's flight, only the second flight, is already a non refurb.

What happens when you have a mixed fleet.
Same happened with the BNE-NRT flights.
At least with the 330s they will all be upgraded within the next 6-9months.
Cant say that for the 747s

I'd prefer to fly SYD/SFO than SYD/LAX, but the prospect of a non-refurbed 744 is enough to stop me

Did a tail search on Flightaware of OEB & OJM which shows OEB flew to HND last night as QF25 & OJM enroute back from there now as QF26 arriving 0911 at gate 8.

Looks like there has been a sub to a refurb aircraft. However this comes with a 5 hour delay - now due to depart at 20.15 instead of 15.00.

Looks like tonight's QF73 will be operated by VH-OJT, which is arriving in SYD ~1 hour late from SCL tonight.

Incredibly marketing by QF. Full points. Who can resist a cute koala photo?

Are you sick of UA already or was this a momentary lapse of reason?

I still prefer UA for Y TPAC over QF 744.

But QF 380 Y would still be my preferred Y transportation.

Priority List:

1/ QF 380 F
2/ QF 380 J
3/ QF 744 J
4/ QF 380 PE (Exit row ONLY)
5/ UA 787 J
6/ UA 777 J
7/ QF 380 Y (Upstairs Cabin or 71D/80A/80K)
8/ UA 787 Y (Economy Plus aisle or bulkhead)
9/ QF 744 Y (Bulkhead or Exit Row)

Ignoring VA/DL
