Hi people

I notice that Qantas lists the meals on this 15.5 hr flight as "Lunch and refreshments". Can anyone who has endured this trip in economy recently advise what the offerings were, and when in the flight they were served?

I flew QF7 in Y in May last year. There was a lunch, snacks available in-flights, and IIRC, another lunch. Maybe a breakfast. It was a second meal, and I remember for some reason finding it odd - maybe it was breakfast and served at something like late morning, Texas time, so that's what confused me.

Thanks people. Looks pretty similar to the offerings on the flight to Joburg we took in September, which was also woeful.

Menu looks pretty good for economy, but I don't have high expectations or even any real expectations personally.

I flew qf7 & 8 October, first time in economy int'l for a few years (I called it being back in reality). I was impressed with the meals, no alfoil type containers, etc. Out of Sydney I pre-ordered, can't remember what it was, beef anyway. Very tasty. Found snacks were being offered very often. Think meal out of Sydney was probably couple of hrs in flight. Overall, certainly different economy experience of a few years ago. If you can get upstairs in smaller economy cabin, big plus.

Unfortunately these days they reserve those upstairs economy seats for high status FFs

My QF7 experience was quite unusual. We left at 10pm and landed at 10pm so they gave us two dinners thankfully. Also two hotel rooms for free + $150 worth of food vouchers, but a story for another time, but I believe it's a lunch/hot dinner style meal, plenty of snacks, like fruit, ice cream, cheese and biscuits etc. and then a hot or cold breakfast (your choice). Meals are now served in these massive trays, they've ditched the salads which were pretty woeful and now the meat portions are actually a "normal" size, pretty good for economy if you ask me. The only other meal which was better that Ive had in economy was on Emirates.

Those menus are decent. Always a fan of the strogg. From memory, though, the salted caramel mousse is criminally sweet.
