Hi everyone
I was wondering if anyone has tried to make a classic award booking combining QF and 3K? Trying to book a one-way award booking from Perth to coughet, I used the "Using Points Calculator" which gave a result of 25,000 points and showed the routing as Perth - Singapore - coughet (QF for PER-SIN; 3K for SIN-HKT). I thought this would be great as QF77 PER-SIN arrives in SIN at 5:35pm and 3K 537 SIN-HKT departs SIN at 8:30pm...so the connecting time is fine.
However....the above combination of flights can't physically be booked. The award booking site never gives the above 2 flights as an option (regardless of the dates), and when I called QFFF the agent said the two flights can't be booked together. She could book me a SIN-HKT award seat on 3K for an extra 12,000+tax on top of the 25,000 from PER-SIN = 37,000....her recommendation was actually to book and pay for the 3K flight separately and forget about the award seat (she considered it would be better value).
Has anyone else had this problem? And/or a solution?!! Or is the Using Points Calculator just wrong?
Cheers
James
