Thanks for the report.
Interesting that they have brought back Taittinger CDC. Thought it was just CH Blanc des Millenaires / PH Rare now...

We have been waitlisted for the spa

Wow, that's really rough for F pax and IMO not acceptable. I was wondering how they would service all 14 pax (if the cabin was full) given they only seem to run two sessions at a time - clearly they have no intention of doing so.

Out of interest do you hold status? my partner and I are both QF plat, perhaps that helped in securing the booking..

Only Oneworld Ruby (AA Gold)/Qantas silver equivalent.

The flight is pretty much full, as you say, but it is very disappointing. I would have at least liked my partner to have the opportunity, even if I missed out.

I suspect several miss out because doesn't the spa only open at 7:30? (8am according to website, but I thought it was a bit earlier). Even if they had 3 therapists I doubt they could accommodate everyone.

Is anyone doing the return QF128 anytime soon?

I just booked a work trip in Jan and the return booked into First saver as that was cheaper than flex J. CX wanted 7k in J and the 11pm 118 is just too late for business travellers.

So we flew QF127 yesterday, and overall it was a fantastic experience. Our crew were faultless. So friendly and helpful throughout.

The menu was the same as sbor90, so I won't post pictures of that, but some of the variances.

F lounge was good, although we didn't get a spa booking.

I had the chickpea soup (delicious) and the barramundi. Barramundi was superb - so tender. My partner had the duck salad, which he loved, and the blue eye, which was also a great dish.

We really enjoyed the food - and thought it was better than both SQ and EY first, which we had flown earlier in the year.IMG_2763.jpg IMG_2764.jpgIMG_2766.jpgIMG_2770.jpg IMG_2771.jpgIMG_2772.jpgIMG_2773.jpgIMG_2777.jpgIMG_2782.jpgIMG_2786.jpg

We really enjoyed being able to dine together.

The Taitenger champagne (2006) was delicious. We had the Henschke Giles Pinot Noir with lunch, and the Penfolds Grandfather port with the cheese.

Also, a few final shots of the Cathay F Pier lounge, prior to our connection flight to Male.

Sorry for the half eaten photo - just wanted to show how tender it was

If someone travelling on QF128 in early Jan could post the menu it'd be much appreciated :D

Entire lower deck boarded through First doors on QF128 today. Is HKG not able to attach three aerobridges? FCL FAs practically unable to do their jobs because both aisles were filled with Y pax for a good 15-20 minutes with a few snide remarks about the champagne etc. Not the most relaxing way to start a flight.

We had the same boarding process. I guess because they normally have the 747?

We didn’t have an issue with the economy passengers though, and it barely impacted service - and champagne refills :)

Our crew were excellent again.

Seems to be standard practice. It would be interesting to know if BA, EK, LH , SQ have different setups. I do note the 380s tend to park at similar gates outside the Pier F and around gate 16 so maybe there are dedicated 380 gates?

I've never found it impedes but usually I'm too oblivious to the other pax setting myself up, sending last minute emails and getting changed.
