Just received downgrade from F to J on award in sept
Im away at present not sure if they are refunding points
Has anyone had any luck there
I was on a long layover in DOH. . As I was going to get a sleep pod that won’t be possible now,
hoping they will put me on earlier flight

At least I got do two A380 F flights from Perth.

When I booked I chose the afternoon flight as it was a better aircraft there is an earlier flight I’ll try to get them to change it
the leaving airport accom is a pain in the cough

My October first class awards seat ex Sydney was also downgraded to Business on the 777er. I jumped on the live chat and the agent confirmed the points and tax difference can be claimed after you fly.

I asked them to record the following note "please manually add a note to the internal history logs (the PNR) of this booking stating: 'Passenger accepted aircraft change under protest. Involuntary downgrade from First to Business on SYD-DOH. Post-flight refund team to process Avios and tax difference" and to accept the flight change on their end vs me registering my online 'acknowledgment' as a voluntary acceptance of the lower cabin, which could cancel my refund.
