Qatar Platinum Lounge A La Carte Menu

Was not up to QF F standards but certainly not a bad way to spend 9 hours given I wasn’t allowed to leave the airport due to lack of COVID test

Quiet rooms were a good place to relax

Is this the new Plat lounge in DOH?

I'm going through there in a couple of weeks. I don't have a long connection and just worried if I miss it should I have a COVID test just before I leave if there are any issues. Do you need a RAT or PCR

Edit: spelling their there 🤦‍♀️

The airport staff said I needed a PCR to leave the airport although online it mentions a RAT should be ok too. I’d do a PCR to be sure.

Thanks - do you happen to know how before I can get it done?

So why would anyone bother with the al Mourjan lounge then?

Al Mourjan is bigger version with full sit down restaurant?

It will be interesting to get views and opinions. From J PAX who pop into both.

I've been to al Mourjan lounge many times and found it to be often crowded, uncomfortable and nothing I would get terribly excited about.

Whenever I go there, I head to the sleeping area near the business center and stay there until an hour or so before my flight (I usually have an overnight connection at DOH).

I've also been in the al Safwa first class lounge several times, and just head for the sleeping rooms, which are very nice. Otherwise that lounge doesn't overly impress me either. Ordinary food and service, but nice architecture.

This is the rule:
  1. Visitors from age 6 years and above must bring a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test certificate with a negative result valid for 48 hours or a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) certificate valid for 24 hours, from the scheduled flight to the State of Qatar. Note that Rapid antigen self-test is not valid for travel purposes.

I still find it unclear for transit passengers but just to be sure I'll get a PCR the day before I go
