Qatar partnership with Accor + status fast-track

I have done this last week after unliking my Qantas account.
I received an email confirming the QR Gold membership when the flight landed at the destination and bonus Avios for the new QR member.
Nice. Good to know it was a quick resolution. I’ve got a few transits through DOH planned this year and the QR Platinum wil come in handy for AS lounge access and I can dump BAEC and move over to QR Privilege club

Just got matched to PC Gold from my Accor Plat from this year’s limited intake. It happened only a couple of days after I flew the required QR flight.

Now to build on that to reach Plat, and I can dump Qantas (just qualified for Plat in QFF, so it’ll be a soft transition).

Don’t forget that Australian domestic flights don’t earn for QRPC but you would probably fly enough OW flights to qualify as Platinum anyway

I didn’t realise that, thanks. I guess I’ll use my stash of the DSC’s to maintain Qantas Plat as well.
They earn if they are ticketed in conjunction with an International flight but for stand alone domestic flights you get absolutely nothing if you fly QF.
If you fly VA you earn Avios but no QPoints

Both of which are quite odd.

QF FFs have been able to earn SCs flying standalone domestic flights in the US since OW began (including the heady days of YUPPs into AA F). All long before the QF/AA partnership. And for sometime now on AS domestic flights (with some cheap whY fare exclusions).

AFAIK, AA/AS (and most other OW FF programs earn something on QF domestic?

Something something QF QR feud.

I think that more or less sums it up.

I would’ve thought if QR wanted to reward people crediting PC over QFF then they’d be happy to credit Qantas flights to PC.

Them not being about to credit is a slight disincentive for me to use PC over QFF.

QF changed their T&C’s a couple of years back to reflect this too.

9.1.5 A member of a oneworld Member Airline or Airline Partner loyalty program will not earn that program’s loyalty points or status credits on any Qantas domestic flight where the oneworld Member Airline or Airline Partner permits their program points or status credits to be earned directly or indirectly on any non-Qantas Group flight on the same domestic route (where that domestic flight does not form part of a Qantas marketed international itinerary).

I was going to refer to that. IIRC, there was some lively discussion before on that - I was saying that Qantas has no 'right' to prevent someone from earning anything non Qantas after having their backside on a Qantas seat. I could award RooFlyer Reward points to anyone producing a Qantas BP and I can't see how Qantas could do anything about it. But thats another thread. :)

But maybe QR decided that was a fight they didn't need.

Just did the calcs and will qualify Plat on QR on existing bookings by the end of this year. :) Will qualify Accor Diamond about the same time.

I checked that. Gold only max both ways. But happy to be corrected!

That must be a recent change as that is how I first got QR Platinum. They were matching Platinum to Accor Diamond.
Maybe they had too many successfully match
Yes, limit started this year.
