I'm a novice when it comes to QR. My step MIL had a flight BNE/DOH/CWL (Cardiff in Wales) cancelled in 2020 due to COVID and had an EMD issued (see below).

So now she wants to go back (visiting her sons and grandkids) but QR don't fly to CWL at the moment, so looks like she now has to get to LHR and get the bus up to CWL (seems also to be part of the ticket, as was the original routing).

Looks like we can't use a TA anymore, as the story goes that the original TA (Flight Centre) had transferred the funds to QR and they'd paid the commission before the cancellation happened - seems weird but whatever?

Not sure about the relevant end dates for (a) booking and (b) commencing [or finishing]travel, but she really wants to stay past the 30th September (grandsons 18th birthday). Her proposed dates are to arrive in UK between 18th-21st Aug (whatever is the cheapest day to fly) and depart UK week commencing 3rd October, again the cheapest day. She's looked at some flights & concerned about the connecting times (doesn't want to spend hours waiting as won't have Lounge access). She understands that it is likely she'll have to be paying extra on top of her credit but that's no problem.

Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

Also just did a little research on Privilege Club. This seems to be a good offer as she isn't a member: https://www.qatarairways.com/en/Pri...oQ9jSfrtWUn1DzH4H7gaAhYhEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds. However, she can credit to QFF (where she has an open account): https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/earning-points/flights/qatar-airways.html but note that only certain fare classes are eligible, so looks like Avios might be better
