Quick, O/T question, sorry - can you do early check-in (with checked bag) for QR at the Jewel? How early? Does Singapore immigration have a time limit before a flight for going through passport control, like they do in Australia (usually when 'flight opens' at T-3 or 4 hours)

At Jewel from midday until 10pm, but no later than three hours before the flight.*
* I guess that includes their 2am'ish flight.

I have never encountered any such issues at Changi - that includes some 20+ hour layovers on separate bookings. Caveat is that I had no checked luggage.

Presumably the idea of the Jewel “early checkin” was to encourage peeps to get the the airport, offload bags and spend time (and $$$) in the Jewel. But once you have your BP, you’re free to enter the terminal.

As per another recent thread, just be mindful of Lounge opening times.

Egad. Nearly a rookie mistake.

I have a 6:45pm QR departure so I was thinking of checking in about noon when the Crowne Plaza will kick me out and head to the QR lounge for a nice lunch, saving dinner for on board the flight.

Lounge opens three hours prior but I can also use the SATS Premier lounge in a different terminal so I might just check that out.

Pretty sure the SATS is pretty coughty - happy to be corrected!

QF J opens around 2pm and QF F shortly after. The later is a tranquil haven before the main rush.

Rarely a thing here, at the bigger ports here at least IME. Not much point not 'opening' the flights, given the use outbound APP.

Check-in for QR is no issue at all.

As other said, from 3pm onwards you have most lounges open, sometimes the QF F Lounge only opens at 1530 though. QF J is earlier, and BA J is also next door (better food in my opinion than QF J).

When and as QR Premium Lounge is open, I would definitely go there over QF F and BA J.

SATS Premium Lounge - AVOID \o/

Agree with all your thoughts.
Hell I would even rate the HBA QF pub far more highly than the SATS 🤣
