I think QR have hit the nail on the head. Where they don't have F if they have these suites instead, bridging the gap between J and F, that's a winner.

I wonder how much space is saved by having rear facing seats in the mix and I'd QF should have considered that. I also wonder if QF should or could retrofit some doors like in this J.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I was most impressed on how a family of 4 can sit "together" and have a good time. I think this is a first time that a J design caters for 4 people sitting J "together".

I hope not - I don't like suites with doors on aircraft (I also prefer quite low walls - I think QF's F suites on the A380 are ideal in that regard.)

Looks great, although I wonder if the compromise of 'feet down in a well' might be the weak point. Will only know when I try it :)

And 'Q Suites' . A certain CEO here in Oz may have choked on his weaties when he heard that!

Looks wonderful - with Qatar possibly flying out of Canberra next year we can hope we get something like this. I still went to Sydney on our last trip in order to fly F with SQ, but with a J like this I won't need to. Of course might take some time until Canberra gets anything like this, although if the flights route through Sydney we might. We might even get Qatar F (I can dream).

Looks great.

Re the foot wells. That's really no different to the current Qatar J (or many other J) seats.

For a couple, I think I'd still prefer the centre seats that are separated.

Finally, I think I read somewhere that they'll need to do something a little different on the A380 and 787s due to being a bit narrower.

For me though this is a winner. I thought the current Qatar J was best in class and this is clearly a step up.

So this will be the J competition to QF on the PER-LHR-PER route. A bit unfair of QR to install a decent long haul J seat.....

I look forward to sampling it in the future.

Very nice!

Now I wonder what to book for my next trip to LHR, go for QF sloppy J with zero privacy or this QR super J.

Hmmm decisions decisions...

I think you should be loyal to Qf and fly them regardless ;)

I wonder if the upgrade schedule is one 359 and one 77W a month or one aircraft total per month?

(they have 13 359 and 34 77W according to the QR website)

Am flying QR for the first time in Aug to BCN and was excited to be trying the "best in class" J when I learnt that flights from MEL change to a 380 in June and the flight to BCN a 787 from a 777. Guess I'll just have to enjoy the second best in class :)

Looks good. Would like to try it out - just have to find the award seats :)
