I managed to get 2 upper deck seats reserved via Qatar's Manage My Seat on SYD-DOH on their new A380. (I'm OneWorld Sapphire). This is a small economy cabin upstairs behind the bar and business class cabin. I rang Qatar and was told that this cabin is only open to PC members as well as OneWorld members with certain status (this seems correct since I could only access the upper-deck for seats after I provided my freq flyer details). The lady I spoke to said that she believed the cabin came with no particular perks except for access to the bar. This seems contrary to what I've read online before (economy passengers not being allowed at the bar). Anyone with any first hand experience here?

Also, the lady on the phone helped with assigning seats for my others legs (on 777 and A330's) and got me an ailse seat in the middle behind a row of 3 (so no seat directly in front of me). Fantastic since I'm 6'6". It just happens to be the other side of the middle section that SeatGuru claims it should be. This happened to me before a few times, where the airline claimed to have in a bulk head seat to find out on the plane that it's actually the wrong row. Who should I go by, what Qatar tells me over the phone or what SeatGuru shows on their maps (I know there are different types of configs for Qatar on SeatGuru for their 777 - I checked all 3 of them)?

Thanks PJ - If that's the case, is there anything special about flying upper deck in Y with Qatar? The cabin looks rather full to me (only a few seats left) whereas downstairs is still 80% empty. Cheers for the FlyerTalk link by the way, they're saying that SeatGuru is right and the interactive booking map Qatar uses is wrong.
