I would thought Abu Dhabi is a place you can easily book from Qantas on Classic Awards, since both British Airways and Air Berlin flies to Abu Dhabi.

Until I started to search award seat to Abu Dhabi online on qantas.com

But the conspiracy theory keeps coming to my mind, after twenty times of attampts, I could not let the computer type or select Abu Dhabi as a destination!!!! Neither from London, nor Dusseldorf!

Is this just a computer glitch, or Qantas does not want to sell you such award ticket? Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Muscat etc. are happily and easily selectable on the list.

Please kindly educate me on this matter. Why no Abu Dhabi on Qantas.com?

Because quite a few classic award bookings have to be booked via telesales.

Not revenge. There are an awful lot of cities that are not in the list.

What would qantas be revenging? And why take it out on the entire country?

Considering they are flying to Dubai which is part of the same "country", as in the UAE, emirate might be more appropriate.

Please kindly name one place that BA flies from London Heathrow that Qantas could not display in Classic Awards booking online engine.

This is not a question of "could not" it is a question of "does not". That is they could but they don't. As suggested ring up.

While QF doesn't need to take revenge on Etihad (after all by not flying being able to book an award ticket forces you on to Etihad doesn't it?) there are a couple of airports they should extract a bit of revenge on behalf of their customers.

Very helpful. Only if you could answer the question why Qantas could display the award but does not do so online...

Qantas does not have very good online capabilities, there are many options that you need to ring up for, including quite a few JASAs on its own metal.

Well KL is firmly in the drop down list just behind Krakow and before Kunming...Surprise you could book London - Kunming but not London - Abu Dhabi...

Its not in the drop down list when you select certain from destinations, it does vary by what country you have selected as "home". And when you select KUL, note the options as to where you can go, no HKG for instance!

Great find. Except Nairobi is in the drop down list. So it is incorrect answer.

Abuja is a valid answer.

Thanks for the efforts.

You shouldn't always ascribe to conspiracy what can often be explained by incompetence or lack of thought...
