Qantas workers strike | Herald Sun
"FLIGHTS and arrivals have been thrown into chaos at Melbourne Airport with baggage staff walking off the job.
Passengers have been stranded without the bags because Qantas staff called a snap stop work meeting about 10.30am. "

Here we go again!

I believe they're back at work now - although the flow on effects are still around. Expect delays of ~1 hour to/from Melbourne.

I would have to say the timing is poor ! both from the point of view with familys in and out of MEL due to the fires and also with the current potential jobs situation.
I wonder what got them so upset ? or maybe they felt it had been a while and thought it would be fun.

Oh and plenty of cancellations too while Qantas mops up the mess.

Smart one Baggage Handlers pulling a Wildcat strike. Will be interesting to see how this pans out as those sorts of strikes are illegal IIRC.

We were on QF 618 the 1.05pm service from Melbourne to Brisbane and we were delayed 2 hours by these miserable Ramp Crews...After what the state has been through this past week these guys think that are numero uno one...Not in my book...Would love it if Qantas made life difficult for them but alas thats probably not going to happen...The business lounge was empty with plenty of food and drink so our time wasnt entirely wasted !!!
