Qantas Voucher Query - Qantas Club

Quick Question.

I have a travel voucher from qantas from I a flight I has to cancel due to a family health issue last year.

Can I use these funds to fund a qantas club membership?

I'll give the flying kangaroo a call Monday but thought I'd ask the knowledge here.

I have also just had a voucher created after cancelling a QF flight (for different reasons - I found cheaper flights after I had booked it). It shows up as a "Voucher" (with the same PNR) under "Your Bookings" when you log onto your QF frequent flyer account. When I go in to view it, the voucher conditions state that:

• Valid for 12 months from the original booking creation date.
• If not used within the 12 month validity period, the voucher value will be forfeited unless the original fare permits a refund.
• Can only be used towards one way or return bookings from the country in which the original ticket was issued. Multi-city bookings are not permitted.
• Are non-transferable. Name changes are permitted on Gift Vouchers only.
• Vouchers can only be redeemed on Qantas operated flights at Qantas.com/yourbooking or through Qantas Contact Centres.
• Any change fees that were applicable to the original booking apply when redeeming the voucher.
• Can only be used towards a fare of equal or higher value. Gift vouchers can be used towards eligible fares, surcharges and taxes, a new voucher will be issued for any unused credit.
• A booking fee will apply for vouchers redeemed through Qantas Contact Centres.

Looks like the voucher can only be used towards flights (and in the original passenger's name)...

I cashed in a voucher a few days ago for a flight. They took of $60 from the value of the voucher just to use it.

How come? Oh - I just read the bit about the change amount being linked the the original ticket category so the $60 is from memory for a redE/sale fare. I have changed these before and have had a $60 fee to make the change.

how about, if you booked the initial flight with a gift voucher which you later cancel? does it go back to being a gift voucher? or just a normal voucher. Big difference.......

I would think a flight voucher would still be created, regardless of how the original flight was paid (debit card, credit card or gift voucher, etc)...
