Hi everyone,

I've got a voucher still to use that I bought last year. It states expiry dec 27th 2013.

does this mean that I have to use it by then, or could I book a flight before then, but actually fly, say dec 30th?

thanks in advance

TQ

I think you just have to make a booking with it by that date. At least that's how I read the Terms and Conditions.

  • Amounts are in Australian dollars and are valid for bookings made on or before the expiry date stated on your voucher.

I'd suggest you could book a flight for late next year, as long as you do so before the 28th.

You just need to make the booking before the expiry date.

The PNR is then subject to the fare rules of the new booking.

Gift voucher? You should be able to use the voucher up until expiry date booking flights ~12 months in advance. Don't leave it too late.

I have a gift voucher but the flights offered when I try to redeem it are much more expensive (or at inconvenient times) than if I made a new booking. And then there's the redemption fee. It won't get used.

I think there is some confusion in various posts about the difference between a credit from a cancelled flight and a gift voucher. The other day my girlfriend and I booked to go to Melb. She had a credit from a cancelled flight and lost $77 of it in change fees. My flights were $198 so I bought a $200 gift voucher to get the 2000 points bonus and then booked the flight. There was no redemption fee, in fact it stated I will get a new voucher for the remaining $2!!

That does not sound like a gift voucher. There are no redemption fees on gift vouchers.

Yep. You're right. I was thinking of a voucher not a gift voucher. Too hot here to think straight. 9pm and still 35C. No sleep tonight.
