Going from Melbourne to Singapore soon (in business). The QF site offers Emirates as an option. Three questions:

1. Do you get the same points/status credits as QF?
2. Has anyone compared the two products - seating, service etc.
3. I (assume I) can use the QF First lounge in Melbourne (Platinum). What is available in Singapore?

If you book the codeshare there is no difference re points, if you book the EK flight number massive difference. Two products big difference, so long as you don't mind the ten abreast in Y EK is a lot better, meals are great, IFE has huge content and generally staff are good as well (I had five greetings on Thursday night which was a tad excessive).

You can use either QF. Or EK lounge if open, EK will be but I doubt QF will be open ex MEL.

Triple7 will be in the good seats

Book as EK flight number you get QF points but no QF SC's

Ahh, missed the J part, no ten abreast there, seats are a tad narrow but its a very good product.

The other consideration is what time (going there) suits best, a day flight or evening flight? Other than that I'd say IFE, seat and meals are better on EK, and no worrying about confusing small plate big plate options.

I can only compare the J products, but I would agree, I like the way that EK attendants walk up and down the aisle with fresh bread selections.

Just about to hop on QF8418/EK418 BKK-SYD and got a pleasant surprise of an op up for me and mini colster 1 to J. Problem is that they couldn't fit Mrs Colster and mini colster 2 up the front so there are many glares even as we speak from the QF Pub in BKK. Voldemort has nothing on a death stare by Mrs C when I am Platinumified and she isn't.
