I received the Avis promotion as well.

I checked a SYD-BNE airfare on sale for $109 and reduced the price down to $104 or <5%. So for a return airfare I would save $10 and I would then pay the $7.70 credit card surcharge for saving of $2.30 which is not that crash hot.

Got the similar Budget offer (up to 20% off) but window is after 1 May... I usually book 1-2 days before travel, not 1-2 months so this offer is wasted on me.
