If you collect Qantas points and prefer to fly Qantas, this is the card for you.

American Express is feeling generous. They are now offering Qantas Ultimate Amex with 80000 points with free Qantas domestic flights thrown in. This is be best bang for the buck card if you are looking for Qantas points.

Essentially, it is 80000 Qantas points + free domestic Qantas flight for $450 annual fee.

The bonus Qantas points will come as long as you meet the following spending criteria:

- 5,000 Qantas Points after your first Card spend within 3 months of the Card approval date.

- 72,500 Qantas Points after you spend $1,500 on purchases with your new Card within 3 months of the Card approval date

- 2,500 extra Qantas Points[SUP]1[/SUP] after your first Card spend in Australia on selected Qantas products and services within 3 months of Card approval date.

APPLY HERE

This is 30000 more Qantas points than what you get by applying directly with standard American Express offer. The 80000 points offer is only available via the referral link above.

I will also get 20000 Qantas points as referrer. However, you get 80000 bonus Qantas points, which you cannot get via standard Amex offering. Therefore it is a win win situation for all of us.

Amongst other things, you also get the following:

- complimentary access up to two entries per calendar year to the American Express Lounge at Sydney International (Kingsford Smith) Airport T1.

- Complimentary domestic and overseas travel insurance.

- For free flights, you can book the flight in the name of another person;

- 0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 12 months — A one-off credit plan establishment fee of 1% applies to any balances transferred (NOTE: Spend the $1500 on purchases first as well as 1 Qantas services to get the bonus points first, pay it all off, BEFORE doing this).

If you really don't want Ultimate card (or cannot meet their salary criteria), you can always look at their Premium Card or their discovery card. Please see the table below with application links for each of the cards, as well as comparisons between the cards. Again, I get 20000 Qantas points as referrer of the cards below. However you get much more Qantas bonus points than the standard American Express offers:

Ok it’s time to make my pitch with my referral link here too!

Link can be found HERE

As everyone is aware the previous offer for this car has just ended, however if you missed out last time don’t fret, there is still an excellent offer available through my referral link! Signing up this way will get you a cool77.5k bonus QFF points after spending $1,500. Plus another 2.5k points if you buy a Qantas product (assume this needs to be a flight). And of course if anyone is kind enough to use my link I’ll get 20k pts for myself which would be excellent too!

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere we are looking at a trip to Italy in April 2018 travelling in J so any extra points will definitely help towards this. No doubt we will feed our faces in the same sort of gluttonous fashion that we did in the United States of Eating last year so if enjoyed that trip report and would like to see another then please consider my link.

Main features of this fantastic card are:
· $450 annual fee
· Free domestic return flight each year
· A couple of passes to the AMEX lounge in SYD
· Complimentary domestic and international travel insurance
· 0% p.a. balance transfer for 12months
· A great earn rate of up to 3pts per $ spent.

This is a great card by itself and the bonus point offer makes it a no-brainer IMO. Whether you want to keep the card long term or cancel after the bonus points hit your account for a pro-rata rebate on the annual fee, you can’t go wrong with it.

So if I’ve managed to hook you in and you love cheap points as much as I do then please APPLY NOW!

Re: Qantas Ultimate American Express: 80000 Points (New as of 31 Jan 2017) Referral O

Below is my link for the latest Qantas American Express Ultimate Card referral campaign:

http://amex.com.au/refer/markuhVdP8

If you apply using this link, you can get up to 80,000 Qantas frequent flyer points and I will get 20,000.

This is still a generous offer, with the sign-up bonus and the free flight (see below) easily making it worth the annual fee. In addition, the higher earn rates on selected spend categories make this is a valuable card to hold on to; the 3 points per dollar at restaurants & cafes and selected Qantas services, and 2 points per dollar on most other travel-related expenditure help accumulate the points fast and make this a great card for someone who spends a lot on travel.

All the details and 'terms & conditions' of the offer are available by clicking the referral link, but the key points are summarised below.

Firstly, the 80,000 bonus points for you are made up of:

-5,000 Qantas Points after your first Card spend within 3 months of the Card approval date;

-72,500 Qantas Points after you spend $1,500 on purchases with your new Card within 3 months of the Card approval date; and

-2,500 Qantas Points after your first Card spend on selected Qantas products and services in Australia (flights, flight gift vouchers, seat selection payment, flight award fees etc.) within 3 months of the Card approval date.

Other features of the card:

-3 Qantas Points per dollar spent at tens of thousands of restaurants in Australia, and selected Qantas products and services in Australia;
-2 Qantas Points per dollar spent on airlines, accommodation, major cruise and tour operators paid directly or through travel agencies, and spend in foreign currency when overseas and online
-1 Qantas Point per dollar spent at all other providers, excluding those listed as earning 0.5 points below and insurances offered by American Express
-0.5 Qantas Points per dollar spent on utilities (gas, water and electricity providers), insurance offered by companies other than American Express, telecommunication providers (including goods and services purchased from phone, mobile and internet service providers) and government bodies including the Australian Taxation Office, Australia Post, federal/state and local government bodies

-A complimentary Qantas domestic return Economy flight to a range of cities each Membership year after your first Card spend on selected Qantas products and services.

-Complimentary access up to two entries per calendar year to the American Express Lounge at Sydney International (Kingsford Smith) Airport T1.

-0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 12 months — A one-off credit plan establishment fee of 1% applies to any balances transferred.

-Complimentary domestic and overseas travel insurance

-An annual fee of $450

Re: Qantas Ultimate American Express: 80000 Points (New as of 31 Jan 2017) Referral O

Hi all! I too have a referral link for the AMEX Qantas Ultimate card, my link is http://www.amex.com.au/refer/harrymkOzb

Upfront I will say that I earn 20,000 QFF points if you use my link (which I am gracious for) and also I have found AMEX to be much more usable card (beyond just petrol and woolies).

The card is very well described above (80k bonus ponts, 3 PP$ on restaurant spend, 2PP$ on Airlines/holiday related spend + overseas spend, 1PP$ on everyday spend and 0.5PP$ on utilities/ATO), so rather than rewriting the benefits in detail I thought I'd discuss what I've gained from it in in the short period I have had it.

Where I have found this card to stand out is the 3 points per $ when spending at restaurants. The definition of restaurant to AMEX I've found to be fairly lax and as a result of this I've often found that I've gained the 3 points per $ when buying a round at the bar, even when no food is purchased. With this, even most coffee shops/coffee carts that you see around also pay the 3 points per $. This is a great way to earn.

The complementary domestic return flight (while limited to some capital cities) is a fantastic bonus and can be triggered after making a flying related spend. I did this by buying a flight voucher when Qantas was offering 5 points per $ on voucher spend. With the two PP$ I earned from the card, this took me up to earning 7 PP$. Other ways can be by paying taxes on award flights or simply by booking and paying for a flight with this card.

Secondly, reading the Insurance PDS I think it's quite reasonable coverage for my needs (I am a young healthy person, your needs may vary).

Finally, the referral bonus is a a great way to earn ongoing points (hence this post!). As far as I understand the referral bonus is limited to 200,000 QFF points per year. If you were to consider keeping this card long term I feel that the complementary flight and ongoing referral bonus points would make the annual fee worthwhile.

Anyway, I hope you've gained some value from my post and if so, please consider using my referral link.

Regards,

HM520

Re: Qantas Ultimate American Express: 80000 Points (New as of 31 Jan 2017) Referral O

Hi Guys :)

I'll offer up my link too! :)

http://amex.com.au/refer/davidcaNYZ

The bonus is in total 80,000 a little bit less but still great value! The breakdown is:
-5,000 Qantas Points after your first Card spend within 3 months of the Card approval date;
-72,500 Qantas Points after you spend $1,500 on purchases with your new Card within 3 months of the Card approval date
-2,500 Qantas Points after your first Card spend on selected Qantas products and services in Australia (flights, flight gift vouchers, seat selection payment, flight award fees etc.) within 3 months of the Card approval date.

I'll earn 20,000 QFF points if you use my link too and i'll be a step closer to my honeymoon flight =D So many thanks for that. :oops:

I've used this card at restaurants where i get 3ppd and for my use I get 0.5ppd on bills and payments to the ATO. I also find that it's great value because of the free domestic flight you'll get once you've had some QANTAS spend, apparently you can also sell these on ozbargain for 100 dollars but I'll probably hang on to them and use it.

Also, if you have a big family like me, it's worth getting this card also because of the refferal bonuses you'll get for yourself. Each person you refer you will get 20,000 which is roughly worth about $200 from what I understand (I may be wrong!).

I think this is a great card and especially if you have lots of friends/family who are into points, you'll get so much value out of this card due to the bonuses and referral points! :D

Thanks to all who have read my post and happy points hunting :D

Re: Qantas Ultimate American Express: 80000 Points (New as of 31 Jan 2017) Referral O

Hi All,

As many would know Mr NoName & I had a great trip to the USA last year. We travelled all in F & J using points. With a similar trip to Italy planned for next year Mr NoName has told me I need to pull my weight and earn some points of my own . As a result I present to you my referral for the Qantas Amex Ultimate Card!

http://amex.com.au/refer/junel7Vts

While the previous offer for this card has just finished, they are still offering an excellent 80k bonus QFF points if you apply through my link (30k more than through the AMEX website) after spending $1,500. And of course if anyone is kind enough to use my link I’ll get 20k pts for myself which will be used both for the mentioned trip to Italy as well as to shove in Mr NoNames face as proof that I can earn some points myself!!

Main features of this card are:
· $450 annual fee
· Free domestic return flight each year
· A couple of passes to the AMEX lounge in SYD
· Complimentary domestic and international travel insurance
· 0% p.a. balance transfer for 12months
· A great earn rate of up to 3pts per $ spent.

This is an excellent card with great signon bonus as well as a generous ongoing earn on spend. Definitely a big recommendation from me!

If I’ve managed to convince you to apply then doing so through my link will be very much appreciated!

Re: Qantas Ultimate American Express: 80000 Points (New as of 31 Jan 2017) Referral O

Hi all, I might also throw in my referral link.
I only signed up for this card in late 2016 and have found it pretty good. I'm finding that a lot more places take Amex than in the past (including my reasonably small local cafe!)
If you search on the Amex site, you'll only see a 50,000p offer, but if you follow my referral link you'll get 80,000 Qantas points!.
As a disclaimer, I also receive 20,000 Qantas points if you follow my referral. :)

The 80,000 points are awarded as follows:
5000 points after your first spend.
72500 points after you spend $1500 within 3 months.
2500 points after you spend any amount with Qantas.

Main features of this card include:
- $450 annual fee
· Free domestic return flight each year with Qantas.
· 2 passes to the AMEX lounge in SYD
· Complimentary domestic and international travel insurance
· 0% p.a. balance transfer for 12months
· A great earn rate of up to 3pts per $ spent.

Re: Qantas Ultimate American Express: 80000 Points (New as of 31 Jan 2017) Referral O

After signing up for the card using a link from the previous offer, here's my referral link for this new 80k bonus offer!

This is fantastic - particularly for people ex PER - as you will easliy get your $450 annual fee back in free flights. Plus, if you value your qantas points at half a cent per point, you'll get a minimum of $400 value out of this card straight away too.

As per the above posts, you get 80k total (5k first spend, 72500 after $1,500 in 3 months, and 2,500 for your first qantas spend (which is also needed to trigger your free flight each year)).

Thank you in advance to anyone who clicks the link applies, and contributes 20k points towards Mr & Mrs Excel's next holiday! :)

Re: Qantas Ultimate American Express: 80000 Points (New as of 31 Jan 2017) Referral O

Hi All,

Everyone above has done a great job of explaining the main terms and benefits of this latest offer. I thought I'd give a perspective on how the offer works for us.

I can easily say that Mr purpleparrot (no.2) and I have been really happy with this card. As we applied under the previous offer we earned 112,500 QF points from using a referral link and making our first spend on the card with Qantas (taxes for an award booking). I still think 80k QF points is a good offer and this represents good value for us. In fact, Mr purpleparrot (no.2) has indicated that he might apply for this card too.

For us the key benefits of this offer are:

a) The 80k points - this is a great way to build a decent chunk of QF points, particularly for people new to the points game;
b) the free Qantas domestic flight that can be booked in anyone's name. As we travel interstate from WA often, the $450 annual fee to offset this flight alone represents great value;
c) AMEX will often assess household income rather than individual income when assessing an applicant. This means Mr purpleparrot (no.2) who is self-employed has no issues when applying for AMEX issued cards as my income is taken into account; and
d) We eat and drink out often and by visiting venues that take AMEX and are classified as "restaurants" we have maximised point earn at 3ppd.

80k QF points will almost get you to Europe in Business one-way. Mr purpleparrot (no.2) has used the points (read: my points) for a business class flight to Vienna on Emirates in June to travel through Austria, Slovenia and Hungary. I get to stay home with the kids. Apparently I get to use the free domestic flight and get to travel overseas next time in business. If you'd like to help address this gross injustice then please consider using my referral link. I'll get 20k QF points towards my next trip and you'll get the bonus 30000 QF points more than if you didn't use a referral link (i.e 80k points once relevant spends are met).

Hi Steady,

How did you get the full fee refunded? Did they let you still do this even after you received your Qantas points???

I'm amazed at Amex's generosity?

:) :) :) :D :D :D :D I called them up and asked.

I started the conversation along the lines of;

I live in Tassie and I just discovered there are no flights I can book ex Tas, if I cancel now would there be any pro rata refund? or should I try and give the flights away first.

The Aussie operator was very understanding, he advised that as I had only paid the annual fee on the 12 Dec, it was under 2 months so I should get a full refund - but it required a request to be submitted that takes a few days, and it may not be 100%. So I said I would cancel, the full fee showed up 2 days later. I phoned up and gave my cheque/savings account details and now just waiting on it to arrive. Very happy with AMEX.

All QFF points had transferred beforehand, and no mention of the bonus points by Amex.

I have just cancelled this card this afternoon and was given a full refund of the annual fee. Please don't try to use the link as I would assume it will no longer work. If anyone was wanting to show me some love and give me a referral for this card please use Mrs NoName's link instead (page 1). The 20k pt referral bonus will be just as appreciated by both of us. :)
