The issue had been fought and won.eEverybody was just going about their business.Then this ad stirs up the people who opposed SSM.Not what I would call good business sense in antagonising a potential 1 in 3 of your customers.

For some 'social justice' warriors (like, you-know-who) the issue is never won until everyone with a contrary opinion has been repeatedly hectored, shamed and silenced. Preferably on some-one else's coin.

Social virtue more important than potential alienation of customers don't ya know, and if the customers are 'those' awful sort of people, who cares?
